ABOUT
Casa della Scrittrice, The House of the Writer, is an intimate bed and breakfast nestled in its own olive grove away from the noise and bustle of the normal world, situated just a few kilometres from Ostuni. It’s the perfect place for a holiday, a place to unwind, relax and really try living the ‘Dolce Vita’.
If you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway or two friends who don’t mind sharing a comfy double bed, our bed and breakfast is the place for you.
At Casa della Scrittrice you will wake up to the to the sights and sounds of the glorious Puglian countryside, with the light streaming into your room – It really is the perfect way to start your day.

Now with three different room options you can either choose Bed and Breakfast in the Trullo or Pool Rooms or if you prefer to Self Cater book into La Pineta a self contained studio apartment with its own private terrace and kitchenette.
Whichever room you decide on, after a good night's sleep you can wake up, take a dip in the salt water pool or just sit on the terrace with a coffee and watch the day unfold.
If you're joining us for breakfast you will meet your hosts and the other guests at the large communal table for a continental style breakfast of local and homemade produce.... Over breakfast David and Francesco are always happy to share their knowledge about the area and tell you more about the must-see sights as well as some of the best places to eat, before you head out for a day of sightseeing.

Breakfast is served on the terrace at a large communal table where your hosts, David and Francesco, will join you and you can find out more about the area.
Free Wifi
Free WiFi is provided in all rooms. We have provided a selection of books for you during your stay and some useful information and notes about the area.
Garden

Casa della Scrittrice is set in a secluded Olive Grove and is surrounded by a garden filled with native plants and shrubs.

Housekeeping
We provide complimentary pool towels in each room. On the main terrace is a cold drinks fridge. Should you require anything else please ask.

Pool
There is a large salt water pool for guests to use during their stay, with a large sunny terrace where you can soak up some Puglian sun.

Puglia is home to some truly amazing restaurants, from Michelin starred to simple Trattoria. We are always happy to recommend and book a local restaurant for you.

From hilltop villages to Baroque towns and of course the jewel in the crown La Citta Bianca, Ostuni.

Every day you will find a local market in one the many beautiful towns around us,
where you can buy some amazing local produce. If you love Antiques you will also find a Sunday Market every weekend too.

Further Afield
​
We are ideally situated to explore further afield too. The Baroque town of Lecce and coastal towns of Otranto and Galipolli are perfect for day trip. While Matera, European City of Culture 2019, in nearby Basilicata, is only a two hour drive away.
Leisure Activities

From Safari and Water Parks to Underground Cave Systems as well as WWF Reserves your sure to find something to while away
your day. Then in the evening you can head out to a great restaurant, discover a local Festa or catch a Jazz or Classical concert.
Beaches
Puglia has one of Italy's longest coastlines and is home to some of its most beautiful beaches. From rocky coves to long sandy bays, beautiful coastal dunes and WWF reserves. There really is something for everyone to choose from.
